About Us

Wirral Rocking Horses is a small family business established in 1988.

For almost thirty years we have been making and restoring traditional fully carved rocking horses.

We also make and retail a top quality range of rocking horse fittings and accessories. All our accessories are used on our own horses and their quality is reflected in our 100% feedback on eBay. From upholstery pins to thirty-six matching tails for a traditional galloper (carousel) ride we have the materials and expertise to meet your requirements.

If you can not find what you are looking for or need free advice, please contact us by email or phone. Outside of business hours please use our answer phone.

Wirral Rocking Horses LogoFAQ’s

How do I measure my rocking horse?

If you are in doubt over the size of your horse please consult page 16 of our brochure showing how to measure your horse. This will ensure you purchase items of a suitable size.

Did you have a rocking horse shop on the high street?

Yes,  we originally had a unit after which for almost fifteen years we operated from our retail premises Wirral Rocking Horses at 364 Hoylake Road, making horses for home and abroad. Incidentally, the shop and our business still occasionally appears on pay for view television.

Are you also an author?

Yes, you have caught me out. I am the author of eight books on the First World War. These include: Moreton and District Patriots, The Cheshire Bantams, Boesinghe (Battleground Europe), Zeebrugge and Ostend Raids (Battleground Europe), The War on the Hospital Ships, Wirral in the Great War, Liverpool in the Great War, and Wigan in the Great War. I am currently working on Liverpool in the Second World War.
